All week I've been trying to finish another piece for my Lockergnome blog, the last in a series, but one or another thing has kept me from it.   I guess I'll try again this week.   I think part of the problem is that mom is feeling better and, of course, the better she feels the more attention she requires.   I know, that the exact opposite of most sick people but hey, that's how it is.   When mom feels bad she stays put instead of wandering around, falling down and injuring herself.   Oh, none of the injuries have been serious, just bandaid boo-boos but when she feels good she pulls off the bandaid and picks at minor blemishes until they become gaping, bleeding wounds so she requires a lot more supervision when she isn't feeling ill.   Any woman can tell you how bad men are at multi-tasking but I'm getting better at it.   I can write, work on a computer, do laundry and fix supper while checking on mom every few minutes for hours on end.   Now, if I could just do something about the lake in our front yard, I mean hey, we're supposed to be a quarter mile from the water.

Another thing I've been doing a lot lately is reading.   If you like to read, don't want to spend a lot of money and like having lots of choices, check out paperbackswap.com.   You'll be glad you did.

It's been raining in Texas.   Raining and raining and raining...in Texas.   *Sigh* Just when I had gotten used to the drought.

We have this little problem, our yard is flooded and there's water flowing down the street, even though it hasn't rained in several days.   We called the water guy for the neighborhood; he's been out digging holes and the problem is not our water system, thank goodness.   There's some chance that it's an underground stream and it may have found an outlet in the form of a spring.   If it's a broken water main, we'll have some heavy equipment out front for awhile making a heck of a mess.   That's OK, though, the yard looks like a rice paddy and is starting to smell just about that yummy.   Clorox is my friend.

Rather a long time ago, I read the following quote:"If civilization has a smell, it is the cleansing scent of chlorine bleach".   Read this article and make your own decision.

In the words of the immortal sage, Roseanne Rosanna Danna, "It's always somethin'".

'Til next time.
