Don says:
I took an online test to see which operating system I am.

Which OS are You?
Then I took an online quiz to determine my pirate name. Arr, flibber me gibbets and such like.

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay
with Don, though, since he's a tough person. Even though
he's not always the traditional swaggering gallant, his
steadiness and planning make him a fine, reliable pirate. Arr! |

What's the point to these silly things?
I don't really know, I guess it's just another way to entice folks to give you a link on their website. Right or wrong, in some circles websites are judged by how many other sites are linked to them. Fred Langa, with his "Load the code" thing has to be one of the leaders of the pack but I don't grudge him his success in the least. I've learned an awfully lot by reading Fred's ezine over the years and we too have "loaded the code" with a link to his site on our homepage.
Lisa's been writing what she calls a "letter to mom" pretty much every day but it looks more like a blog to me and I guess that occurred to her to so
she's got her own site at myspace.com and she's already started posting to her
blog.
Lisa's been out working a lot this week and I'm more than a little maxed out on laundry, dishes, cooking, and mowing. I hate sports and I don't drink so let me tell you, if I catch her sitting in front of a football game with a beer in her hand it's going to hit the fan y'all.
Lisa says:
The last two weeks have been fairly fast-paced and interesting, to say the least. We continue to work on the house and yard and things are coming right along. Thank goodness putting in a large flowerbed is a one-time deal. As a starting point, I included the existing crape myrtle on the left, old damaged pear tree on the right and rose bush in the front, bordering with locally obtained rocks. In the bed are petunias underplanting the pear tree, Siberian, white and yellow irises in masses, light pink vinca, hyacinth bean, plumbago, woodland violets and four-o'-clocks, so far. I think I need one more thing, maybe something mid-sized and white, for one last vacant spot. No, really, just one more.

New siding and flowerbeds.
Mom was in the hospital for the better part of a week and is now home recuperating. Don's sister was able to stay with Mom over the weekend so I was able to accompany him to a couple of gigs and we had a great time. My favorite was John Wayne's 2nd Annual Birthday Party at the Historic Bluffton Store here in Tow, TX. What made it very special was that Don's daughter Lily (an awesome drummer) was available to play, a rare treat for us. I babysat the kids and Don, Lily and their friend Pat Gibbons made up a trio.
